Language Coordinator - Hispanic Studies Department This staff member will serve as coordinator of the Spanish basic and intermediate language sequence, train and mentor the Spanish Language Tutors and coordinate the Language Resource Center (LRC), as well as teach 3 Spanish language courses a year. The Coordinator of the LRC will be expected to assist and advise faculty in the implementation of technology as a means to improve both instruction and learning for faculty in both Hispanic Studies and Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. Applicant must have Master's degree in Spanish; excellent teaching record; experience as supervisor of language programs; computer-assisted language teaching experience, collaboration with faculty in integrating technology into second language instruction; strong interest in current trends in second language acquisition; and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. It is a continuing, nine-month, full-time position with benefits. Final candidate must pass a pre-employment background investigation to be hired for this position.
