After creating the image you need to run these three commands as Administrator as there is a change in the boot manager between XP and Vista: BCDEDIT /set {bootmgr} device boot BCDEDIT /set {default} device boot BCDEDIT /set {default} osdevice boot Other than that ghosting Vista works the same as XP. As for serial numbers, I am using an Enterprise license, so every computer has the same serial number. I have found that if I don't enter any serial numbers the software is activating itself automatically.
