Shortly before noon I went outside to find out why the blue jays were so noisy. It seems a red-tailed hawk had landed on my roof. It sat there for 15 minutes pretty much ignoring the jays that made repeated passes at it. Finally it flew to a nearby tree. Photos of the event are at http://mysite.verizon.net/vzes1eww/jimblockphotography/id44.html Some of my favorite birds during June included Blackpoll, Canada, Black-throated Blue and Green, and Northern Waterthrush Warblers; Sharp-shinned and Broad-winged Hawks; Cedar Waxwings, and Eastern Kingbirds. These and more can be seen at http://mysite.verizon.net/vzes1eww/jimblockphotography/id45.html The photos on these two pages were taken at various spots in NH during June.
