I had a surprise encounter with a N. Mockingbird in Hillside Cemetery in
Norwich this morning, my first ever in Norwich. At one point it perched
atop a nest box, in which there are now 4 E. Bluebird eggs (2 yesterday
morning). The mockingbird never made a sound, and I'll be surprised if
it stays.

I saw one in Norwich several times, in the same spot, a couple of years ago; it
was on the short stretch of Route 5 near where the railroad tracks cross between
the Ledyard Bridge and the road downhill to Route 5 from downtown Norwich
(Church Street?). Unfortunately, I rarely see them in the Upper Valley; maybe
once per summer. They seem to be more common on the NH seacoast.
