Paul: Thanks for the input. I am glad that your SD4 download worked. For the version I received, however, Applescript formatting was definitely not working, nor was it working for a colleague here at my place of employment. I researched the issue throughly, pulling both versions of SD (3 and 4) up and comparing them side by side. As a matter of fact, here's the description I wrote in preparation for a follow-on message to Mark Alldritt WRT the subject: If I look at SD3 under "Script Debugger/Preferences" I find an item named "Applescript Settings." Clicking on it, I find eight items already added (i.e. New text (uncompiled), Operators, etc.(+ & ,), Language Keywords, Application keywords, Comments, Values, Variables and subroutine names, and References). By clicking on any given item, I am allowed to select font, font size, font style, and color. If I activate SD4, select "Script Debugger/Preferences," I am presented a dialog with three categories of icons to select: "Application," "Scripting Systems" and "Maintenance." Under "Scripting Systems" I find "Applescript." Clicking on it, a dialog appears with the title, "Applescript Formatting": And then what looks like a list box, with four columns labeled "Category," "Font," "Size" and "Color." The listbox itself is completely blank, and I can see no button or keystroke that will allow me to add a category. Clicking on the "Factory Defaults" button causes a small dialog box to appear with the message: "NSRangeException/Uncaught exception: ***-[NSCFArrayobjectAtIndex:]: index (1) beyond bounds (1)." I was in fact going to send the above text to the list this morning, but decided to download the SD4 upgrade first to see if it made a difference. It did. I'm now happy, and I felt like telling Mark that. End of story. R, John A.M.
