This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming faculty developer to move into a leadership role a fast-growing institution. CETaL is a well-established teaching center (founded 1996), offering an associate director many opportunities to create programs or innovate within existing ones, particularly in the areas of instructional development and formative assessment. The center is seeking someone with energy who would enjoy working in an intensively collaborative environment with highly motivated colleagues. Position responsibilities: * Consult with faculty on issues of teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum as well as instructional technologies * Provide expertise and organize support for curriculum innovations in academic departments and programs * Build and manage a structure and process for formative assessment of teaching and learning * Collaborate in creation and delivery of graduate student professional development programs and activities * Participate in a wide variety of faculty and instructional development efforts * Teach periodically in a variety of formats: classroom, hybrid, online Education and Experience: * Ph.D. in any discipline * 1-2 years experience in university-level faculty and curriculum development * Experience in graduate student professional development * Experience leading workshops and trainings in an academic setting * 3 years of classroom teaching experience * Experience or familiarity with course management systems (e.g. Blackboard, WebCT, Angel, D2L) UTEP is a research-intensive university of 19,000 students, with a mission to provide education and research opportunities to the population of the southwest.
