Eleven products are evaluated in this volume. They are organized into three broad categories. The first consists of those whose major function is that of providing instructor control over, and communication with, student workstations: NetSupportSchool and SynchronEyes. The second group focuses primarily on providing various types of audio recording functionality: Dartmouth College Language Recorder/DLWeb, LangLab, and Wimba. The third, and largest. group is that of the full-fledged language lab programs: SANAKO Lounge 100, SANAKO Lab 300, LEM/Spe@ker, CAN-8, Genesis, and SANS Virtuoso/Soloist. If you are contemplating acquiring one of these systems, or simply just want to know what's available, the DLLS is really essential reading. It will be available shortly through the IALLT website at $45 for members, $60 for non-members. If purchased at CALICO 2005, as a friendly gesture from IALLT, all attendees will be able to purchase it from the IALLT booth at the $45 members' price.
