I know I could go online and compare specs and prices with MySimon, or ComputerShopper, etc., but I'd like to get first hand accounts of good and bad scanner experiences from listmembers. I basically want to start scanning personal documents, school notes, articles, etc., to store them digitally and be able to dispose of the originals. I'd like to be able to print out those digital documents in the future, if needed, with good quality output. I'd like to get something that's low priced (since I'll probably have to leave the scanner behind if I move), compact (so I can have it on my desk without it taking too much space), and that offers good quality results (e.g., a Umax I tried recently gave me a greyish document background in "greyscale", and the edges of text and illustrations were ragged in "black and white"). Any good scanners that you have purchased lately, or any bad ones to stay away from? Thanks, Roberto Perez [log in to unmask]
