Center for Language Study is seeking a Language Technology Specialist to support the development and use of web-based templates for creating multimedia instructional materials. This is a fixed duration position (two years from date of hire), with possibility of extension. Working closely with faculty who are developing instructional materials and with the programmers developing the templates, the Language Technology Specialist will have an opportunity to participate in both pedagogical and technological design of the projects. He or she will lead training initiatives and provide user support through demos, presentations, workshops, and one-on-one support sessions; test and document our new software; and administer faculty access to the new applications. (A list of the templates under development can be found at: http://www.cls.yale.edu/templates) This position requires strong skills in communication and writing in English. Note that minimum required education/experience is a Bachelor's degree plus two years of work experience. A Master's in CALL or a related field is preferred. (Recent MCALL grads encouraged to apply regardless of work experience.) For all the details on the position, go to: http://www.yale.edu/hronline/placement/ext/ Click Job Search and search under "IT Jobs" for the requisition number: CCRM21128 Candidates for the position must complete the on-line application on the Human Resources site, which includes submission of a cover letter and resume--only candidates screened by HR may be considered. In addition, feel free to send a copy of the cover letter and resume directly to me, so I know to be on the lookout for an HR referral. The Center for Language Study at Yale is an exciting and fast-paced work environment. We value initiative and diversity; members of any minority group are encouraged to apply. I would also be happy to answer any questions about the position or the CLS.
