She's using Windows XP and Office 2003. In Word, she can make the appropriate selection: Word > Tools > Options > Complex Scripts > Numerals (1. Arabic. 2. Hindi. 3. Context. 4. System). However, a selection of Hindi numerals in Word does not carry over to Outlook, and the options in Outlook > Tools do not offer Complex Scripts. In Outlook, she's able to receive Arabic e-mail with Hindi numerals, but when responding those numerals in the sender's original are automatically converted to Arabic. In addition, she's only able to input only Arabic numerals herself; we cannot find a way to enter Hindi numerals in Outlook. Even a string of Hindi numerals pasted in from a Word document is immediately converted to Arabic. Is there a way to select Hindi numerals for Outlook? Sincerely, Innumerable in Providence. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ David Kanig Manager, Technical Services Language Resource Center, Brown University Box 1935, Providence, RI 02906 office: (401) 863-7090 cell: (401) 641-0431
