The Language Learning and Research Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook on Long Island, NY will be advertising for someone to fill the position of Associate Director of the Language Learning and Research Center in the next two weeks. One more bit of amazing paperwork remains before this position is announced, formally. However anyone "informally" interested in the position is encouraged to conact, [log in to unmask] soon. This position will be a tenurable staff position whose starting salary will be 40$K+. The position will have full benefits and union rights. While cost of living here is very, very, high, this salary with benefits is liveable. As an aside the previous holder of this position (now retired) was tenured. Since this note is not an "official" note it is possible to say that the successful candidate should have Language Center experience, will have good knowledge about current trends in language learning pedagogy and very good knowledge of technology for language leaning. The position requires a BA but higher degrees are preferred. For further details about the Center, type in http://www.sunysb.edu/llrc/llrc2.html. If the web site does not come up, contact me at the e-mail listed above. A formal e-mail announcing this position will appear as soon as it is approved via State of NY channels. Best to all, Mikle D.
