The publisher sent me a letter giving me permission to do just as you say, providing, of course, that we're purchasing their textbook. alex Alexander Waid, Ph.D. Professor of Spanish Department of Humanities United States Coast Guard Academy (dh) Department of Humanities 27 Mohegan Avenue New London, CT 06320-4195 860-701-6866 -----Original Message----- From: LLTI-Editor [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Monday, June 14, 2004 1:27 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: #7547 Sample permissions request letter? --- Forwarded Message from "Chapman, Annelie (ITC)" <[log in to unmask]> --- >From: "Chapman, Annelie (ITC)" <[log in to unmask]> >To: "[log in to unmask]" <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: Sample permissions request letter? >Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 17:33:01 -0700 Greetings -- Does anyone have a sample of a letter requesting permission from a publisher (or other copyright holder) to make digital materials available to students? Many of our instructors are wanting to get such permission, mostly from publishers of language textbooks, to digitize and/or stream the accompanying audio/video/exercises for their students from a password protected course website. They are asking for a sample letter to help them craft their permission requests. If you have a letter that you've used successfully, and it's in English, and you're willing to send a generic version of it, we'd be very grateful.
