Thanks for that set of comparisons, Mike. I've worked around problems in 9.2 for supporting the Tense Tutors and similar stacks. Booting them up just takes 5 more steps than under At Ease under the legacy 7.5 OS. Nothing that a little text & pictorial reference sheet couldn't solve. I've moved a few old machines (both Macs and PCs) to our AV lab. I've taken them off the network and use them for legacy apps only. Macs run system 8.6 and PCs run Win98 (which also allows for MS DOS). Using 8.6 avoids the system 9 problems some programs encountered (they made hardware calls Apple disallowed in 9). Oh, as an aside I have also had problems with programs NOT working in Hypercard 2.2 that work great in 2.1. You might want to try a previous version of Hypercard in Classic to see if this helps. This supports programs that are still good and haven't been updated (and never will be). Although I haven't spent much time looking recently, it seems as though the variety of programs available to us has declined recently. Hope others can tell me I am wrong. If I am not, this gives us even more reasons to support legacy apps. Best to all, Mikle D.
