>Subject: Sample permissions request letter?
>Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 17:33:01 -0700

Greetings --
Does anyone have a sample of a letter requesting permission from a publisher
(or other copyright holder) to make digital materials available to students?
Many of our instructors are wanting to get such permission, mostly from
publishers of language textbooks, to digitize and/or stream the accompanying
audio/video/exercises for their students from a password protected course
website. They are asking for a sample letter to help them craft their
permission requests. If you have a letter that you've used successfully, and
it's in English, and you're willing to send a generic version of it, we'd be
very grateful.
Sincerely,
Annelie
