Sorry for all the trouble. Thanks, Jim ================ Addendum follows: ================ Hello again, I just learned this morning that the company that hosts my Flash Communication Server applications (the technology behind this project) has gone out of business. They closed down quite suddenly without notifying their customers. The good news is that I've already moved to a new host and "Project We Say Tomato" is up and running again. So, if you saw a "please try again later" message when attempting to contribute a voice entry, the connection problem has been solved and Project We Say Tomato is now accepting new entries. Sorry for any inconvenience. For those who may have missed it, the original Call for Participation follows: ================================================================= Call for Participation: Project We Say Tomato *** With apologies for cross-posting *** ================================================================= Greetings all, I'm writing to request your participation in "Project We Say Tomato." The purpose of this non-commercial, wholly voluntary project is to collect a diverse range of language samples for an interactive presentation to be shared on my website. All English speakers (native and non-native alike) are encouraged to take part. In this first phase of the project, participants are asked to record a short quotation. In addition, non-native speakers are asked to translate the quotation. If you have a microphone connected to your computer (and have installed the Flash player within the last year--v. 6.0 or higher), then you're ready to participate in this global language survey. Please visit my blog for more information on "Project We Say Tomato." There, you can listen to the contributions already accepted, and add your voice: http://www.duber.com/oncall/ ======================================================= *** Please forward this Call for Participation to all who might be interested. *** ======================================================= Thanks very much and best wishes, Jim _______________________________________________________ Jim Duber [log in to unmask] _______________________________________________________ computer assisted language learning ::blog:: http://duber.com/oncall/ _______________________________________________________
