I know of only one package: ReadIris Pro 7.0's Asian OCR Add-on (windows only). There is no demo and it is difficult to know how user-friendly it really is. I am told that it works best on a PC localized with Windows 2000 and Office 2000 Chinese/Korean/Japanese. Without the localized software, the results are Unicode characters, but in an ASCII string in which all formatting is lost. Has anyone run it on a localized system, and if so, how good is the output?
