The successful candidate will work with faculty and staff to provide technical support and advice to enable them to take advantage of current technologies in their teaching, administrative and research activities. Qualifications include: B.A., experience with current technologies, digital video and audio, web and database applications, and other general computing tasks, especially foreign language computing issues (please be prepared to provide examples of web design and production skills). Managerial or teaching experience is desirable. Responsibilities include: - Offer instructional design support for technology projects including designing, building, and maintaining websites. Maintain and develop LRC website (http://www.colby.edu/lrc), including the digitalization and incorporation of audio files into the virtual listening lab. - Supervise LRC student monitors and manage the timely completion of assigned tasks. - Provide technical support for a wide variety of multimedia web based technology enhanced projects, evaluating, installing, debugging, and customizing hardware and software for language and instructional activities - Act as liaison with other campus groups to interpret and convey technical information to language instructors and other faculty, and interpret and convey diverse faculty needs to technical support personnel Successful applicants must have a vision for the role of instructional technology in higher education; leadership ability; organizational skills, ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team; strong interpersonal skills; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in directing or coordinating projects involving the use of technology-based materials in higher education is an asset.
