The incumbent is responsible for providing technical support for the computerized audio language lab system which includes, but not limited to configuration, troubleshooting, and repairing technical equipment; incumbent will assist with the interface of new Divace system equipment and reconfiguration of the existing equipment; maintain the Center$E2s web site; and, will supervise student assistants in repairing and configuring equipment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Applicants are encouraged to address the following knowledge and abilities in their cover letter or as an attachment to their application materials: *Knowledge of the second language acquisition principles, methods, and techniques; *Knowledge of languages learning materials, supplies, equipment and their uses; *Knowledge of Divace system; *Ability to support and troubleshoot TCP/IP protocol in a LAN/WAN environment; *Ability to troubleshoot and correct technical equipment problems; *Ability to order/maintain software for the library; *Ability to train faculty in using lab equipment, *Ability to design web sites, teaching aids; *Ability to set priorities; *Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages related to the position described above is required. This knowledge and skill may have been acquired through a bachelor$E2s degree in information technology, computer science, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study. Experience and/or training which demonstrates the acquisition and successful application of the knowledge and skills required to successfully perform the duties of the position may be substituted for education. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of a second language other than English, preferably Spanish and/or French. A Master$E2s degree in a related field.
