Dear Colleagues, The foreign language departments here at Temple University are in the process of reconsidering their graduate reading course offerings and I've been charged with locating reading proficiency descriptors and existing competency level reading tests. I'm aware of the ACTFL reading level descriptors, but find them too generic and inappropriate to the research based reading that would be expected of a graduate student. If you have experience in this area, I'd love to hear from you and find out more about how you approach the teaching and testing of graduate reading courses. I would be particularly interested in learning about ways that computer-based methodologies are being used to provide more flexible delivery of instruction. Thanks in advance for your input.
