Students can, of course, pause, rewind, etc. They cannot change the speed. -----Original Message----- From: LLTI-Editor To: [log in to unmask] Sent: 12/8/00 1:12 PM Subject: #5860 Digitized audio --- Forwarded Message from "Fatima Chajia" <[log in to unmask]> --- >From: "Fatima Chajia" <[log in to unmask]> >To: [log in to unmask] >Subject: Digitized audio >Date: Thu, 07 Dec 2000 16:25:50 -0000 ------------------ Greetings to y'all, We are considering digitizing the audio tapes used in our language programs. I would like to know your opinion on that. I am particularly interested in knowing: 1. whether you have just digitized the tapes, and therefore students are listening to the texts with nothing on their computer monitor (besides the navigating commands, i.e rewing, fastfoward etc...) 2- or that you have the transcriptions of the texts on the monitor (with the possibility of the text being highlighted or underlined as the audio enfolds ) 3. or that you have added some other options such as the possibility of playing the audio texts at a slower speed etc... I would appreciate all your comments, recommendations etc... Thanks y'all. fatima Fatima Chajia, Ph.D Dept of Foreign Languages 358 T.T.
