Qualifications include: B.A., experience with current technologies, digital video experience, HTML and Javascript, spreadsheet and database applications, and other general computing tasks. Foreign language classroom experience and/or interest in languages and language pedagogy desirable. Responsibilities include: -Offer instructional design support for language-specific technology projects including designing, building, and maintaining websites -Provide technical support for a wide variety of multimedia web based technology enhanced projects, evaluating, installing, debugging, and customizing hardware and software -Supervise student monitors and manage the timely completion of tasks assigned to the the LRC including planning to meet projected needs for language learning facilities -Work with individuals in academic departments to provide technical support and advice to enable them to take advantage of current technologies in their teaching, administrative and research activities. -Interpret and convey technical information to language instructors and other faculty, and to interpret and convey diverse faculty needs to technical support personnel - Liaison with other campus groups as needed. Successful applicants must have a vision for the role of instructional technology in higher education; leadership ability; ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team; strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and excellent organizational skills. Experience in directing or coordinating projects involving the use of technology-based materials in higher education is an asset.
