Samantha Earp Foreign Language Instructional Technology Specialist Duke University ----- NOTE: Please address all inquiries and application materials to this e-mail address: [log in to unmask] ----- Computer User Support Specialist Language Departments Duke University The Language Departments Computer User Specialist is responsible for the computing environment in Asian & African Languages and Literature, Germanic Languages & Literature, Romance Studies and the Language Laboratories. Responsibilities include oversight of current computer usage, advising on potential uses and functionalities, planning to meet projected needs, as well as overall responsibility for functionality of hardware and software. The Computer User Specialist works with the individuals in each department to provide technical support and advice to enable them to take advantage of computers in their teaching, administrative and research activities. The Language Departments Computer User Specialist works with colleagues in Arts and Sciences and the University to bring the full suite of computer support to these departments and programs. The Language Departments Computer User Specialist works with the Foreign Language Instructional Technology Specialist and the staff of the Sulzberger Lab to support the infrastructure required for use of technology in teaching. The Language Department Computer User Specialist reports to the chair or director of each unit on priority and planning issues and to the A&S Computing Manager of Operations on technical issues.
