STRIPS is a decades-old Dartmouth tradition similar to First-Year Trips that takes place before sophomore summer. The program seeks to provide a sense of place for each member of the Class of 2026 so that they feel connected and integrated within the class and the greater Dartmouth community. It’s a great way to meet new people, experience the outdoors, and get into the spirit of the summer term!

Sophomore Trips is a peer-led small group experience in the spaces and places around Dartmouth, this year taking place in the Second College Grant. Much like First-Year Trips, participants on Sophomore Trips spend a few days together in small groups of six to ten with two student leaders. Unlike First-Year Trips, everyone on the Sophomore Trips 2024, including the leaders, are members of the class of 2026!

Importantly, Sophomore Trips is an experience for anyone – no experience of any sort is required to participate in or lead a trip, and there are spaces for any level of comfort with the outdoors.
