Application Information

The Economics Department invites members of the Dartmouth classes of 2025 and 2026 to apply to become a Dartmouth Economics Research Scholar (DERS)<https://economics.dartmouth.edu/undergraduate/dartmouth-economic-research-scholars-ders>.

This DERS program provides additional mentoring and support to students with strong potential in economics research. Additional advising and out-of-class enrichment activities -- dinner discussions, workshops, and peer exchanges -- accelerate and enhance the coursework of participants and enable closer participation with faculty on research projects. Such participation begins with paid assistantships on faculty projects (e.g., by way of the College's Presidential Scholars program) but often evolves into research collaborations with faculty and independent student projects, including senior theses. For students interested in graduate studies in economics and related fields, the program aims to help prepare students to apply to and succeed in those programs.

If you are a Dartmouth `25 or `26 interested in applying, please fill out this Google form<https://forms.gle/1cdvjSb3fpnEsyuq7> by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 16. Decisions will be announced by the beginning of March. Note that the application does require a faculty endorsement, so please contact a faculty member before starting to fill it out.

Please direct any questions about the program or this application to DERS director, Professor Christopher Snyder, at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
