The Dartmouth Yu-Gi-Oh Club would like to invite everyone to our Winter Term Tournament. In order to participate in the tournament, there are certain rules that players will have to follow in order to create a fair and organized playing environment. The tournament will take place Friday, February 28th in the Fahey 1st floor lounge. It is recommended for anyone who wants to be in the tournament to be present at 5:30 pm. We will be taking names down in order to make the tournament bracket. Keep in mind that it is difficult to add people who arrive late because it messes up the timing of rounds and brackets that will be created.

If you would like to participate in the tournament but do not have a personal deck, the club will be providing decks that have been created. However, there are a limited number of decks available for people who do not have their own. These will be given out on a first come, first served basis.

Please come out and participate for your chance to win some prizes!

Players participating in tournament MUST follow the following rules:

  1. This Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament will follow Link Format Rules. We encourage players to watch this video for in-depth link summoning mechanics if needed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebvGX8x-zDU).

  2. Players with personal decks will have to abide by the Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced format ban list. Visit this link for the forbidden and limited list (http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/).

  3. Other people should NOT be giving tips to a duelist during a match UNLESS it is for clarification from a judge on rulings or game mechanics. Players who receive help from anyone who is not a judge will be given a game loss.

  4. Leaving early before the tournament ends will count as a loss/forfeit.

  5. This will be a swiss event. Players will get to play in every round of the tournament unless there is an odd number of players. If there is an odd number of players, then one player will have a bye-round each round.

  6. Each round will consist of a best 2 out of 3 match. Side decking is allowed for games 2 and, if needed, game 3.

  7. Each player starts off with 8000 LifePoints (LP) to begin each individual game. The player who loses the first game chooses who will start off in the 2nd game, and this will repeat if a game 3 is needed.

  8. The winner of the tournament will be declared when there is only one player left undefeated.
