What is START?

START is an arts integration program where volunteers develop and teach original, creative lesson plans to supplement classroom learning

Using theatre, dance, music, and visual art, START volunteers transform traditional classroom subjects in a way that engages students imagination and encourages them to think differently

What Would I Do?

With START, you’ll learn about designing lessons, leading a classroom, and re-thinking education through art!

Volunteers work in teams of three and are partnered with one local elementary school classroom a term

Through six classroom visits,  START volunteers offer a creative outlet for students to advance or showcase their knowledge

How Do I Apply?

If you like kids, like art, or are curious about creative education, APPLY HERE!

No experience needed, just positive energy, a commitment to volunteering, and a creative mind!

Interviews are conducted this term, so apply now to start teaching 19S!
