GET OUTSIDE WITH CABIN AND TRAIL THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!



Cabin and Trail leads lots and lots of hikes, cabin overnights, and assorted shenanigans even in the winter! And you can borrow any and all winter gear that you might need - from warm layers to zero degree sleeping bags to snowshoes - for FREE!!!! (Just ask!)

If you'd like to get outside this weekend, sign up for any of the trips below by either completing the linked google form or blitzing the email provided with your dietary restrictions and shoe size!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY    What: *Mia* & *Jacob* *Show* *You* *a* *Good* *Time!* *In* *a* *Cabin!* *With* *Pancakes!*
When: 5pm Friday- 8:30am Saturday! But if you have conflicts, we are so very very flexible!!!
Why: Me and Jacob will make you breakfast for dinner. We will enjoy both pancakes and general camaraderie in a cozy cabin. There will be games, maple syrup, and memories to treasure for a life time. Zero miles. All the glory. It's gonna be great!!!

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY      What: *THE* *SNOW* *BALL* (12 hour awesome contra dance)
When: 10:30 AM– late
Why: The Snow Ball is a legendary 12 hour dance featuring the best bands and callers out there. Whether you've danced your whole life or if it's your first time (really!), come!

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY      What: Cross Country Skiing to Owl's Head
When: 8am-6pm
Why: A great way to get outside this weekend! We will cross-country ski on the Lincoln Woods trail and potentially climb Owl's Head! An easy day of skiing that could also be a more strenuous climb, depending on interest and experience! Guaranteed pretty ponds, frozen waterfalls and delicious snacks!

Gear: Warm layers! Skis, microspikes, snowshoes etc. will all be provided!

SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY      What: Moosilauke SunPSYCH (Sunset Hike) + Late Night DINERTOURE!!!
When: 1pm-9pm Saturday January 26th
Why: You don't have to wake up early! Sleep in, then see the sunset on top of Mount Moosilauke. 7 mile round trip hike, moderately strenuous. Come down Moosilauke in the dark, using headlamps and looking at stars. Then drink milkshakes and eat delicious food at a classic NH diner before heading back to campus around 9pm on Saturday night. Wahooo!
Level 3.5/5 (due to the fact that we will be hiking down moosilauke in the dark, we would prefer that only people who have winter hiked previously sign up for this trip).

Cost: FREE FOR EVERYONE HECK YEAH
Gear: Everyone needs a headlamp, a day pack, warm layers, two liters of water, sturdy hiking boots, a hat, and gloves. Most of this gear can be borrowed from Dartmouth Outdoor Rentals and a full packing list will be provided via email once you sign up officially.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY    What: Kinsmans!!!
When: 8:00am-7pm Sunday
Why: Beautiful 12 mile hike, plenty of snowy views-- come for a good time!!!

Gear: Everyone will need two liters of water, warm layers, and a daypack (all of which can be borrowed from the DOC!)

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY    What: Waumbek with Bryton and Shannon!
When: Sunday, 8am to 5pm
Why: This weekend will be warmer than last weekend! We'll be hiking up the Starr King trail to the peak of Waumbek-- it should be beautiful. Get outside before the February cold gets to ya!

Leaders: Bryton Moeller '21 and Shannon Sartain '21
Cost: FREE
Gear: You'll want some warm base layers, a fleece and puffy, leggings, shell pants, hiking boots, and some other winter things (like gloves, hat, scarf/balaclava), and a backpack. We'll be supplying overboots and microspikes for free from the DOC. You can also borrow ANY of these items from the DOC FOR FREE!

MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY    What: *Rine's* *Heeler* *Overnight* *aka* *THE* *FABULOUS* *DESSERT* *BUFFET*
When: 8pm NEXT Monday January 28th - 8am NEXT Tuesday January 29th
Why: Come spend 12 hours in a cabin eating literally any dessert you could imagine FOR FREE. What more could you possibly want? Luv us.
Level : 0/5. We are not doing any walking. We are just eating.

A note about levels....

Level 1: Short, easy, super-beginner friendly hikes at a leisurely pace with relatively little elevation gain. Think Gile sunsikes and trips to Mink Brook!
Level 2: Slightly longer but still beginner friendly hikes with slight elevation gain, typically half day trips! Think Holt's Ledge or Moose Mountain!
Level 3: Longer trips with moderate elevation gain and mileages! Think Smarts and Cube!
Level 4: Longer trips with more significant elevation gain and mileages! Think Franc Ridge or the Kinsmans!
Level 5: Trips with the most significant elevation gain and mileages! Think Madison, Adams, and Washington!
