The Coalition for Israel-Palestine stands in solidarity with Jewish students and all victims of racist and anti-Semitic violence. We mourn the senseless loss of life that occurred today (10/27) at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We know that such violence can bring up feelings of trauma and helplessness in historically-oppressed communities. We want Jewish students to know that they are not alone, and we call on the student body to come together to reject hatred and its growing prevalence in American and international discourses.

The below-advertised workshop was already being planned before today’s shooting, but will be modified to allow space for students to reflect on and process the violence at Tree of Life Synagogue.

Is criticism of Israel inherently anti-Semitic?

How can the far-right be accused of courting white supremacy despite their seemingly unwavering support of Israel?

How does anti-Semitism function in white supremacist narratives?

Does anti-Semitism still exist? (yes)

Why do we keep hearing about George Soros?

If any of these questions intrigue you, come to the Coalition of Israel Palestine’s Conversation on anti-Semitism this coming Tuesday, October 30th.

7 pm, Silsby 113
