This seminar is designed to challenge, inform and engage the audience in a discussion on energy industry trends and careers. 

 

Goals of the Seminar:

• To challenge some of the commonly held views that there is no need to continue to produce, process, and utilize hydrocarbon fuels, and that there are no opportunities of interest in 'conventional' energy companies.

• To inform you of the current trends in energy production and utilization, and what the most recent forecasts indicate will be the energy mix over the next 20-30 years.

• To explain the structure of the global energy industry, the type of companies and career opportunities involved and the demographic challenges which offer the potential for more leadership and international openings for early career professionals.

• To talk about the recruitment process, the typical timetable, and how you can pursue opportunities. 

William’s Bio:

Will Fraizer has over 36 years of experience in the international energy industry. He has held a number of technical management positions, which include supervising engineering groups for major process plant facilities, health, environment & safety management for a global operating company, and leadership of feasibility studies & front end engineering for major capital projects.  He has also initiated and led technology development programs in areas ranging from biomass conversion & alcohol fuels to natural gas processing & liquids production. 

 

For example, as HES Manager for Chevron Niugini, in PNG, Will negotiated environmental approvals for the Kutubu Oil Project, and developed an agreement with WWF for an integrated conservation & community development project. Will's last international role was Technical Manager for commissioning & startup of the Gorgon LNG Project; Australia's largest natural resource project and one of the biggest natural gas production projects in the world. 

 

Will graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major in Chemistry and Engineering Sciences; followed by a SM in Chemical Engineering Practice from MIT. He has worked in California, Colorado, and Texas, had international resident assignments in PNG, Australia and the U.K., and consulted on projects in Venezuela, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Indonesia & China. Since 2016 he has been advising energy related startup companies, and is now a principal with Eunike Ventures, a hybrid accelerator based in Houston.
