A WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Dr. Robert Santulli (a geriatric psychiatrist who also teaches a winter term course in PBS entitled "Living with Cognitive Decline and Dementia”) has asked NSS to distribute this message.  Please consider joining this effort!

I hope you will join me and your fellow Dartmouth students in participating in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's, which takes place on Sunday, September 23, at 10 AM, in White River Junction, Vermont.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the Alzheimer's Association's most important annual event to raise awareness about the Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, to help decrease stigma, and to raise funds to provide care and support research toward a cure.

There are more than 5 million people in the US with Alzheimer's and if there no cure or prevention is developed, there may as many as 15 million people with this condition by 2050.  Sooner or later, everyone will be affected by this disease;  it is a near certainty that someone in your life will develop Alzheimer's and need your support and understanding, if not your care.

I hope you can join us on September 23 in White River Junction.  We will arrange carpools for those who need a ride.  If you are unable to attend the Walk, consider making a contribution to this important cause.  If you can do both, great!  Click on the link below to be taken to Team Dartmouth's Page.
