Are you aware that nearly half of US physicians admit to having some sort of mental health disorder in the past?
Did you realize that physician "burnout", fatigue and depression lead to medical errors?
Did you know that nearly a third of medical students are dealing with depression and anxiety?

What is the Stress of Being a Medical Student and a Physician?
What Coping Strategies Might Someone Planning on Medical School Develop?

Come and learn more about mental health issues among medical students and physicians at a dinner with Geisel faculty  Drs. Matthew Duncan (Psychiatry) and Roshini-Pinto Powell (Internal Medicine).   Both are Associate Deans for Student Affairs at Geisel and oversee programs helping students identify & deal with the stress of medical school.   Undergraduates pointing toward medical school need to be aware of these issues and learn how they can deal with them now and in the future.  See enclosed recent articles on these issues to aid discussion at the dinner.
