ON PETROCULTURES: GLOBALIZATION, CULTURE, ENERGY

Faculty, staff and students are invited to a seminar with Professor Imre Szeman (U of Waterloo) sponsored by the Society of Fellows and the Department of English and Creative Writing. Szeman is a well-known scholar in environmental criticism and theory, focusing on the cultural politics of oil and renewable energy. His recent publications include Energy Humanities: An Anthology (Johns Hopkins) and The Bloomsbury Companion to Marx. Please find the MS for the seminar attached, from a book in progress entitled On Petrocultures: Globalization, Culture, Energy.

Energy Emersion Spring Break Trip Report

A group of students who participated in the first Energy Immersion Trip to WV & KY over spring break will share reflections, stories, challenges, and facilitate a discussion on future energy 
learning experiences.

The Dartmouth Powwow serves as an opportunity for members of both the Dartmouth and Upper Valley communities to observe, participate, and learn from a broad representation of Native American Dances, music, and arts and crafts.

SPEED STORIES WITH PROF. FRANCIS

6-7PM Occom Commons

This event pulls back the veil and lets students better understand faculty, get a sense of what a life well lived looks like, and share stories. Each Speed Stories has a unique vibe and character, but they all encourage vulnerability and reflection. The second Speed Stories event of the term features Professor Vievee Francis of the English and Creative Writing department!
