Marie Mark, an attorney from the Immigrant
Defense Project, is coming to
campus to give a short lecture about what cities like Hanover can be doing to support undocumented individuals. She will discuss the nuances and legal barriers that prevent undocumented individuals from receiving protection from cities and local governments.
Following her lecture, there will be an open discussion about her lecture as well as general immigration policy and reform topics.
Following the lecture/discussion, there will be a
small dinner with Marie where students can enjoy free food and ask Marie questions about immigration reform, immigration
law, and policy, her career path, strategies for organizing and advocating for undocumented students, etc.
