District Energy at Dartmouth – and in the Ivy League Daniel Møller Sneum will present findings from students at the Technical University in Denmark who made pre-feasibility studies of solutions for Dartmouth’s transition towards more renewable energy. Furthermore, Daniel will share his research on district heating at US universities, conducted during his stay at Dartmouth. His research explores how current policies are drivers or barriers for flexible district energy systems and their integration with renewables and electricity markets. University campuses define the geographical scope, district energy the technological scope, and flexibility the thematic scope. Daniel also explores proposed changes and how they could improve the integration of district energy systems to facilitate a more efficient, flexible, and renewables-based energy system.
