Dear Dartmouth Community,

Kappa Kappa Gamma stands in solidarity with survivors and victims of sexual assault. As active members in the Greek Community, we recognize that this type of violence exists in all types of social spaces across our campus. Therefore, we will be closing our social space this Friday night in hopes that it will help spark productive conversation about this issue.

It is important to reflect upon the environment that we have cultivated. In order to protect our community, we must take steps to encourage transparency and safety among our fellow students. In addition, we support an ongoing, active dialogue with the administration regarding an accessible, results-oriented reporting process.

In order to continue the conversation, KKG and the brothers of Psi-U will be co-hosting a campus-wide talk in May with Cindy Pierce—an author, speaker, and comic storyteller. Cindy has spoken at KKG in the past, and we truly believe that she will relay a meaningful message to the Dartmouth Community. As a dynamic, impactful speaker, she will directly address sexual assault, consent, and the challenges that we are managing as college students. We encourage everyone to attend and to look for more details about the event in the future.

In Solidarity,

Kappa Kappa Gamma
