Dear Dartmouth Community,

The sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority stand in solidarity with women, WOC, POC, and all other marginalized groups on campus. We believe wholeheartedly that no one should be subject to undue speculation about their qualifications due to their marginalized status. We have confidence that all members of the First Year Trips Directorate earned the positions to which they were appointed.

In light of recent events, our members have taken the opportunity to open discussions about the marginalization of minorities, the value of diversity, and the importance of discourse. We realize that ignorance thrives in darkness, so we wish to stress the significance of creating environments in which we can respectfully discuss all sides of difficult topics. As a house, we strive to foster a community in which contentious ideas are openly discussed, rather than immediately silenced.

While the events of the past week have sparked campus discussion, we must remain cognizant that people with marginalized identities face a host of obstacles every day. We feel it is imperative to continue this discourse both at Dartmouth and beyond. As a sorority, we are working toward actionable steps to support diversity and inclusivity on campus.

Sincerely,

Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority
