APPLY TO BE A 2017-2018 GLOBAL
HEALTH FELLOW!
The Global Health Initiative is currently
recruiting its 2017-2018 class of Global Health Fellows. The program brings together students from across the institution for an ongoing exploration of global
health issues and methods. Global Health Fellows build their skills and knowledge through a year-long series of workshops, dinner discussions,
career development sessions and peer exchanges.
Fellows benefit from a peer network of
support and access to a wide range of resources as they pursue field
opportunities, independent research projects and other endeavours in global health. Highlights from the program have included:
- A training with faculty from the Comprehensive Rural Health Project in Jamkhed, India
- A fireside chat with health leaders from the Arctic
- Workshops on stakeholder mapping in community health
- Conversations with a wide range of global health leaders
The program
is open to undergraduates, medical, MBA, and graduate students from all disciplinary backgrounds. Preference
is given to students who have demonstrated interest in global health equity through academic coursework, co-curricular activities, and off term or work experiences. We also encourage applicants who are interested
or have done work in domestic health equity issues. Participation in a Dickey Centre funded
international internship is not a prerequisite for selection for the program. Applicants
must be in residence for the at least two terms of the academic year, including fall term, and be able to attend a fall retreat planned for the weekend of September 15, 2017 and twelve sessions per year.
DEADLINE:
MAY 19th, 5PM
