Interested in shaping the trajectory of the Greek System? Want to find ways to support women on our campus?

APPLY TO THE 2017-2018 PANHELLENIC COUNCIL

The following link will take you to a short application due by Friday, February 24th at 5 PM. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted shortly thereafter. You may express your preference for certain positions, but will be considered for all positions unless you specify a particular disinterest in certain positions on your application.

Please see the position descriptions below, as well as this document, which includes a more detailed list of responsibilities. You’re encouraged to reach out to the current Panhellenic Council members in positions that interest you should you have any questions, or want to talk about their experience. Additionally, you can email [log in to unmask] with any general questions.

PRESIDENT
Lauren Huff

Do you dream of sitting at the head of a boardroom? Does the idea of working with others to help them produce their best work excite you? The role of Panhellenic President is a unique opportunity to lead an amazing group of women, and spearhead initiatives both within and outside of the Panhellenic Community. As President, you will be responsible for the operation of the Panhellenic Council, will sit on the Greek Leadership Council, and will represent the Panhellenic voice on all external matters.

VICE PRESIDENT OF STANDARDS AND POLICY

Do you hate when people don’t put their silverware in the bucket at Foco? Do your friends ever tell you that you’re too much of a “stickler for the rules” and to “lighten up"? In this position, you will be the guru of all Panhellenic policy and procedures. You are ideally a people person, who will work with PNMs and houses in Recruitment to make sure all policies are being followed. Additionally, if you feel like a policy isn’t best representing members of the Greek community, it will be your job to modify it and have the Council and Greek leadership approve it.

VICE PRESIDENT OF RECRUITMENT (2)

Have you ever thought critically about why your rush process did or did not go as you had hoped? Do you want an opportunity to dream up a modified process that balances the interests of PNMs and chapters? The VP of Recruitment not only manages rush for nearly 500 sophomore women (wow, great for resume), but also has the unique opportunity to propose changes to the process in conjunction with sorority Presidents as she sees fit. This position allows for significant impact that will affect a large portion of our campus, and is an exciting opportunity to directly participate in shaping the future of the Greek community.

VICE PRESIDENT OF RELATIONS AND OUTREACH

Do you have a vision for welcoming first year woman on to campus and into the Greek community? Are you frustrated that rush is often the first time women step foot into a sorority? The VP of Relations and Outreach will serve as an advisor to all Panhellenic first-year initiatives, and will work closely with houses to facilitate the planning of sorority hosted events catered to first-year women. The current Panhellenic Council is working on initiatives that are much more expansive than just the pre-rush events, and hopes that this new representative will be energetic about finding ways to welcome freshman into the community and into Greek Life as early as freshman fall.

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

Do you love taking the bill at the end of dinner to figure out who owes what? Have you ever said math was……fun (gasp, we won’t tell)? The VP of Finance is responsible for charging all dues, receiving payments, and ensuring the financial stability of the Panhellenic bank account. She manages all concerns and policies regarding individual chapters’ scholarship distribution, and will work with the Council and the College to make sure individual needs are properly met.

VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

Are you known to get so deep into Facebook stalking that no number of back clicks can get you back to the homepage? Have you ever found a picture from the past, and then lived everyone's worst nightmare by liking it? If so- LOL. But also, apply to be our VP of Research and Analysis! This position is best for someone with an interest in campus policy and how it manifests in the lives of Greek women, as well as a desire to conduct research on the recruitment process, and propose changes based on the results. We are by no means looking for a math whiz, but previous experience with Excel and surveys could be helpful.

VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND LOGISTICS

Do you love your iCal more than anything in the world? Have you considered taking up bullet journaling? The VP of Communications and Logistics is ideally a current ’19 (although open to 18s as well!) looking to get involved in all aspects of Panhellenic operations. You will be responsible for the Council’s social media and communication platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Venmo, Panhell website, email), as well as all communication to campus. She will take an inward focus and work closely with the President to manage the day-to-day operations of the Council.
