WIRED is back!
See the bottom of the email for information on the Ghostlight Project: a nationwide event to unite in creating light for the challenging times ahead this Inauguration Day: Thursday, January 19th at 5:30pm.
What is Wired?
A whimsical, memorable, quite possibly terrifying 24-hour experience where writing pairs are given a prompt the evening of FRIDAY January 20TH and write a play that actors perform the very next night: SATURDAY January 21st
3-4 groups of writers/directors who are ready for the writing experience of a lifetime (snacks included) and endless actors!
ALL are welcome to participate and EVERYONE gets a part regardless of acting or theater background*How can YOU participate?
Please blitz [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], or [log in to unmask] ASAP to reserve a spot as either a writer/director, a writer/director team, or to find out more!
On January 19th at 5:30 p.m., we will gather in the Bentley Theater *(location subject to change) to join in a collective, simultaneous
action, together creating ‘light’ for challenging times ahead. We join the Ghostlight Project and theaters across the country to make, or renew, a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone regardless
of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater —offering visibility and safety for all who might enter.
We invite you to join us for this very special event and confirm that theaters and arts communities have
and will remain safe spaces for all. Though the national movement began with theatre artists, we’re hoping to involve artists across the Dartmouth community in our demonstration. Art can be a powerful vehicle for social change: it functions as a source of
hope, comfort, and inspiration in challenging times. Let's come together and commit to the production of meaningful and empowering art over these coming years.
Bring a flashlight if you have one!
