We are Justin Halloran (Chemistry) and Kevin Stankon (Biology), both members of the Class of 2016 and this year's Teaching Science Fellows.
We partner with the faculty of introductory biology and chemistry classes to make them more accessible to all students, regardless of science background. We encourage and provide interactive learning opportunities in the context of traditionally lecture-based courses. As recent Dartmouth graduates, we are familiar not only with the most challenging aspects of these courses but also with student experiences and the college’s support systems.

Our work includes:
This winter, we’re working with Professor Jane Lipson & Ekaterina Pletneva in Chemistry 5 (General Chemistry) and Thomas Jack & Patrick Dolph  in Biology 13 (Gene Expression & Inheritance). However, working with specific classes is only one aspect of our job. We meet with all students who are interested in the sciences or currently taking any science class.

Additionally, both of us are living in one of the house communities as Resident Fellows this year.  Justin is in East Wheelock and Kevin in School House.  We will be planning programs in these (and with other) communities.  Seek us out there if you need to chat!

If you would like to discuss study strategies, course selection, or just want to stop by to meet us (DO IT!; our office is 123 Life Sciences Center), OR  e-mail one or both of us at

Looking forward to meeting you,
