Prior to founding CarGurus (www.cargurus.com<https://www.cargurus.com/>), Steinert was Chairman/co-founder of TripAdvisor, Inc., the world's largest online travel site with over 50 Million unique monthly visitors and operating in 30 countries worldwide (NASDAQ TRIP). Prior to TripAdvisor, Steinert was Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at Viaweb Inc,, an award-winning, internet commerce tools company that was sold to Yahoo! Inc. (now Yahoo Store). He has also held management roles at Papyrus, Lotus Development Corp. and JetForm Corp. Steinert possesses an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA from Georgetown University.

The DEN fosters and promotes entrepreneurship. The DEN includes over 50,000 people and 14 chapter cities, offering courses, workshops, speaker series, startup competitions and networking activities. Founded in 2000, the DEN is a core component the Office of Entrepreneurship & Technology Transfer at Dartmouth.

In the heart of the Arts and Innovation District in Hanover, the DEN Innovation Center and New Venture Incubator is a tangible manifestation of President Hanlon's vision for Dartmouth as a hub of entrepreneurial creativity and energy.

The Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship at Tuck's primary focus is to enhance the education of Tuck and Dartmouth students by leveraging the Center's academic research and industry relationships to launch student PE careers and entrepreneurial endeavors. The Center augments efforts by the Tuck Career Development Office (CDO) by providing advice and communicating with those seeking employment in the PE industry and provides advice, resources and funding opportunities to student entrepreneurs.
