In April 1733, John Ledyard was a student at Dartmouth College.

In May 1733, he decided he had had enough of formal studies, felled a tree, transformed it into a dugout canoe, and set off on the Connecticut River to explore the oceans of the world.

In August 2016, a group of Dartmouth students will take a break from their formal studies on Friday afternoon, drive northward with a fleet of canoes, adventure down the Connecticut River, and arrive back to campus Sunday afternoon to resume life as a student.

If you want to be part of that group, fill out the attached application by Thursday, July 28 at 11:59pm.
