Mindfulness for the Marginalized: From Self-Care to Resistance
This workshop is open to the whole community, but will be catered to students from marginalized communities and to student activists. On the individual level, the workshop will focus on using mindfulness to sustain one's self in the face of adversity and to
avoid "burning out" when working toward causes that have no end in sight. It will also focus on sustaining oneself as a marginalized person or as an activist while balancing academic and social pressures. On the community level, the workshop will focus on
community healing and building, and it will explore the ways in which mindfulness can bring us together, promote understanding of one another, and help create cohesion within a community.
