Carlos Andrés Gómez is an award-winning poet, actor, speaker, and writer from New York City. He is the Winner of the 2015 Lucille Clifton Poetry Prize and the 2015 Makeda Bilqis Literary Award and has headlined festivals all over the world and was recently Guest of Honor at the Berlin International Literature Festival in Germany.
Elizabeth Acevedo was born and raised in New York City and her poetry is infused with her Dominican parents’ bolero
and her beloved city’s tough grit. Acevedo is a National Slam Champion, Beltway Grand Slam Champion, and the 2016 Women of the World Poetry Slam representative for Washington, D.C.
