The Biology Department has asked the Nathan Smith Society to distribute this message about an exciting new course to be offered this coming fall that many NSS members might be interested in.


Professor Michael Zegans will be offering a new pilot course next fall, BIOL 70 -- Current Topics in Cell Biology:  Biologic Lessons of the Eye (Experiential Learning, India). In addition to the regular on-campus portion of the course, after Thanksgiving break students will travel to southern India for 10 days to study in the field at the internationally known Aravind Eye Hospital.


The program covers the costs of round-trip transportation from Boston to Madurai, as well as program meals and accommodations in Madurai.  Enrollment in program is dependent on acceptance by the professor, and is limited to 10 students.
