Every term, the DOC's Environmental Studies Division funds student projects that encourage sustainability at Dartmouth and reduce Dartmouth's environmental impact. Funds will be awarded to well-planned, feasible projects addressing relevant sustainability issues.  If you're interested in applying, read the attached guidelines and complete the attached applications by Midnight on January 29th

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WITH MAGATTE WADE & MICHAEL STRONG, 10-12am, Rocky 1930's Room 
The Political Economy Project and Dartmouth African Students Association are cosponsoring a visit by Senegalese entrepreneur Magatte Wade and her husband, school founder Michael Strong.  Both Magatte and Michael will be speaking today in the Rockefeller 1930s Room from 10 to noon.  Magatte will speak on the topic, "Beyond Tom's Shoes: How to Help the Global Poor Through Business" and Michael will speak on the topic, "Entrepreneurial Solutions to World Problems".
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION ORGANIZATION (ECO), 7pm, Collis 219

THE MEANING OF SEA ICE, 4:30PM, 041 Haldeman 
Dr. Shari Fox Geared, a geographer with the University of Colorado but based on Baffin Island, will discuss Inuit culture, language, and ways of knowing sea ice based on her collaborative work with hunters and Elders.  She will draw extensively on stories, illustrations, artwork, maps, and photos from the recently published book, The Meaning of Ice: People and Sea Ice in Three Arctic Communities, which won the 2014 Polar Libraries Colloquy's Mills Prize for best non-fiction polar book.

Come join us away from the hustle and bustle of campus to cozy up to the fire at the O Farm! Bring your boots and go for a walk, study in the comfy chairs, (we have wifi), or just take a nap! Hot water, tea, cocoa, and snack will be provided! Bring your own mug or thermos! Rides leaving from behind Robo at 2pm!
