The Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO)
has been around since the 1990s starting with bringing recycling to the dorms. Today the group educates students about sustainability on
campus and tackles everyday sustainability challenges

learn more about how we teach 4th graders at the nearby Dothan Brook School about gardening, farming, sustainable food, and healthy eating. We also maintain a garden and apple orchard at the school.

DARTMOUTH ANIMAL RIGHTS TROUP (DART), 8:30 PM, Collis 101
The Dartmouth Animal Rights Troup raises awareness about issues of animal ethics on campus, increases students' interactions with animals, and supports national movements that also promote animal welfare. The
group focuses on animal welfare in the food industry, product testing, and scientific testing. DART also works to connect students to animals through volunteer opportunities at local shelters as well as pet-sitting opportunities within the Hanover area.

Dan Fagin is a Dartmouth Alum and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who writes frequently about environmental science and is also a science journalism
professor at New York University. His book, Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation,was awarded the 2014 Pulitzer for General Nonfiction, as well as the New York Public Library’s Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism, the National Academies
Science Book Award, and the Society of Environmental Journalists’ Rachel Carson Environment Book Award.
