Dartmouth Community,

MOSAIC stands in solidarity with the Native American community in light of the egregious “Vintage Dartmouth Indian Gear” advertisements posted on college residences and buildings early the morning of October 13th. These actions followed the annual midnight drum circle and a peaceful protest in honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

We ask that you remember that this nation was founded on the genocide, rape, and forced assimilation of Native Americans, as was this institution. Native American students deserve to be treated with the respect that all Dartmouth students deserve. The “Dartmouth Indian” mascot is not only racist, but also an incredibly triggering image. This act was a hate crime and should be treated as such.

Please show your support by filling out a bias incident form here<https://publicdocs.maxient.com/reportingform.php?DartmouthCollege&layout_id=3>.

Let’s push the administration to hold those responsible accountable for their hateful actions.

Love and Solidarity,
MOSAIC
