Throughout the year, the U.S. Department of State offers up to 1,000 internships through its Student Internship Opportunities at diplomatic facilities around the world; at its headquarters in Washington, DC; at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and other offices in New York City; and 20 other locations throughout the United States.

Participants in the internship program help advance the mission of the U.S. Department of State to shape and sustain a peaceful, prosperous, just, and democratic world and foster conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American people and people everywhere.

Applications for Summer 2016 internships are currently being accepted; deadline is October 16.

Dartmouth students interested in learning how their educational, educational and cultural backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge can contribute to the important work are encouraged to attend this information session with Recruitment and Outreach Officer Jim Ellickson-Brown, who will provide a comprehensive overview of the internship program as well as advice on preparing a competitive application.

Prior to the session, interested students are encouraged to explore the resources available at http://careers.state.gov/intern/student-internships.
