Professor DeShazo was a member of the career U.S. foreign service. He directed the Americas program at a think tank in Washington, D.C. and managed a non-profit organization affiliated with Harvard University that is dedicated to strengthening higher education in the Americas. Other areas of his research include U.S foreign policy,security, governance and international affairs
